
Dominitrice “Dee” McCalley-Gonzalez is a powerful testament to the transformative power of resilience, advocacy, and faith. Born into a family where teen pregnancy was common, she became a mother at 16, yet broke the cycle of hardship to build a life of empowerment for herself and future generations. Surviving domestic violence, homelessness, and other adversities, Dominitrice credits her faith in God, the support of her family, and mentors for her ability to rise above her circumstances. Now a mother of three successful young adults, she has dedicated her life to advocacy for teen moms, racial equity, and survivors of abuse, among other causes.
Her experience has been the foundation for her entrepreneurial endeavors, including her business, Dee Butterfly Effect, which provides paralegal and administrative services to small businesses and individuals. She has also served on multiple not-for-profit boards, gaining expertise in strategic planning, governance, and community engagement. In her professional career,

Dominitrice has held leadership roles, including Assistant Director of Engagement and Culture at Illinois Tech, and Coordinator of Regulatory Matters, where she excelled in managing teams, regulatory compliance, and vendor relationships. Her work in diverse settings, both corporate and educational, reflects her ability to foster collaboration and create meaningful impact. An advocate for resilience and empowerment, Dominitrice continues to uplift others through her personal journey, professional work, and service to her community. She is also pursuing a Master’s in Policy Administration, focusing on public policy.
