1st Annual Mother's Day Brunch
DATW partnered with Pastor Robert's House and the Woman Alliance to put on the first annual Mother's Day Brunch. The weather was nice and the turnout was wonderful. Many mothers came out to get special treat/goody bags and to be appreciated on the day. The participants also learned about Dwelling at the Well and our partner organizations for the event as well as information on substance abuse disorders and treatment information. We want moms to know that they will always be important to their children and in their families even while dealing with or working through the challenges of substance abuse.
Valentine's Day Celebration
DATW had a lovely time hosting a Valentine's Day event. There was good food, praise dancing, and a wonderful atmosphere of love and care for those in the community that we love and serve. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the event as amazing as it was. Unfortunately, a lot of our footage and photo files from the event were damaged or deleted - it happens sometimes, technology is a blessing and a beast, but we still had an amazing time and look forward to doing this event again!
"Spa Day" Fundraiser
DATW hosted a very successful fundraiser benefiting women with substance abuse disorders. Even though there were only 15 people allowed at a time, the turn out was amazing! The lines were long and the venue wasn't big enough!! Thank you to all the vendors who came out and provided wonderful food, products, and services! And thank you to all those who came out to support our efforts - you truly make a difference in women's lives when you support our organization and attend our events.
Street Outreach Team
DATW Outreach Teams ministering on the streets of Chicago's west side (in North Lawndale, South Lawndale, Humboldt Park, West Garfield Park, and East Garfield park). Teams visit local spots frequented by women with substance abuse disorders and encourage them, support them, give them referral information, and "goody bags" filled with small essentials (water, snacks, masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, and toiletries).
